Egypt, Cradle of the World's Civilizations, is abreast the times. Today, tourists to her world-famous monuments travel in comfort, and enjoy peace and sunshine of this democratic monarchy, which its citizens call MISR. An up-to-date point of view typifies the Egyptian attitude toward governmental, industrial and all other national projects.
The map locates pictorially the various indigenous products of Egypt and their locations, primarily in the Nile River Valley and proximate to the Gulf of Suez.

Train inspector's report
Special report written by Egyptian train inspector, Alexandria, 1938, along with his comment in French below the Arabic content. The passenger's ticket is attached. Click to enlarge. Photo Credit: Hossam El-Daly.
The Inspector says that upon boarding the train from Saba Pasha Station, and during his inspection of Second Class between Mazloum and Zizinia stations, he found a passenger with a Sidi Gaber Second Class ticket. When asked about the reason, the passenger said that he boarded the train from Alexandria Train Station and gave the guard 5 millimes for the ticket and didn't follow up with him on his destination during the whole journey. Upon careful investigation, it became apparent that the negligence was caused by the aforementioned train guard because he didn't sort out the train thoroughly, even the passenger was a stranger, so he (the inspector) just charged him another ticket to preserve the right of the Rail Office. Note: The train guard was standing and not working and the train in question had only ten passengers.

المحتوى: "صعدت القطار المذكور على الطالع من محطة سابا باشا، وفي أثناء تفتيش الدرجة الثانية ما بين محطتي مظلوم وزيزينيا عثرت على راكب معه تذكرة سيدي جابر اسكندرية درجة ثانية ينتهي مفعولها بمحطة سيدي جابر، وعند سؤال الراكب عن سبب ذلك عرفني بأنه ركب القطار المذكور من محطة الإسكندرية وقد أعطى الكمساري المذكور خمسة مليمات فأعطى لي هذه التذكرة ولم يلفت نظري طول هذه المسافة، وعند التحري الدقيق اتضح بأن الإهمال من الكمساري المذكور لأنه لم يفرز القطار تماماً، حتى أن هذا الراكب من الركاب الأغراب، لهذا اكتفيت بتدفيعه قيمة تذكرة أخرى لحفظ حق المصلحة، وقد تحرر للمعلومية،،
(ملحوظة) الكمساري المذكور كان واقفاً بدون عمل والقطار المذكور كان يحتوي على عشرة ركاب فقط."
